Most people picture a vending machine as something you have to stand next to: you check it, count it, change a price on a keypad, and drive back next week to do it again. A SpritzUp perfume vending machine is not run that way. Almost everything is done from your phone.

This post goes through what you actually manage remotely, screen by screen, and the short list of jobs that still happen at the machine itself. If you want to see the machine, its three packages and their prices first, they are all on the perfume vending machine page.

Can You Manage a Perfume Vending Machine From Your Phone?

Yes. Behind the touchscreen, every SpritzUp machine is connected to a management platform. You open it in your browser, on your phone or on your laptop, and you see every machine you own in one place.

From there you see every sale in real time, you set the price per spray, you see each fragrance’s level and you change what the screen shows. You also see whether the machine is connected. Configuration happens remotely, so you are not driving to the venue to change a setting.

You get your login before the machine arrives. That gives you time to learn the platform with the setup guide and video we send, so by delivery day you already know your way around it.

What You Need for Remote Management

The platform only knows what the machine tells it, so the machine has to be online. How it connects depends on the package.

PackagePriceConnectionReportsRemote advertising
Essential€1,950Wi-FiNot includedIncluded
Professional€2,5904G SIM + Wi-FiMonthlyIncluded
Complete€2,7504G SIM + Wi-FiWeeklyIncluded

Essential runs on Wi-Fi, so it depends on the venue’s network. Professional and Complete add a 4G SIM, so your machine is not relying on the venue’s Wi-Fi alone. When the Wi-Fi drops on a Wi-Fi-only machine, you lose your view of it until it comes back.

That is why, before the machine arrives, it is worth standing where it will hang and checking with your phone that the Wi-Fi signal reaches that spot. If you are placing a machine in a building you do not control, I would want the 4G as well.

How Do You Change the Price Per Spray?

On the platform, never on the machine. The machine screen has no price settings at all.

Each fragrance has a selling price, which is what the machine charges for one spray. You set it when you add the fragrance, and you can change it on each button later. Most operators charge €1.50–3.00 per spray. If you are still deciding on yours, our guide on how much to charge per spray works through it, and the calculator shows what your own price and footfall add up to.

The same edit window holds two more settings that matter. One is how many sprays the bottle holds. The other is how long each spray lasts, in milliseconds. A longer spray gives more fragrance and uses the bottle faster, so the spray length is a real lever on both the customer’s experience and your stock.

How Do You Track Sales Remotely?

There are two sales screens on the platform, and they answer different questions.

Sales Orders lists every sale, one by one, with the fragrance, the amount, the payment method and the status. You can filter it by date and export it if you want a spreadsheet. This is the screen for checking a particular sale or seeing which fragrance people pick. Every transaction appears there in real time, whichever way the customer paid.

Operational Statistics gives totals by day or by month: turnover, cash and the number of orders. This is the screen for seeing how the month is going.

On top of those, the Professional package includes monthly reports and the Complete package includes weekly reports. How detailed the reports are depends on the package, so it is worth deciding how closely you want to follow the numbers before you choose.

Here is what I would do with it. Pick one day a week, open Operational Statistics, and compare the week with the one before. Then open Sales Orders and look at which fragrance sold most. Five minutes, from wherever you are.

How Do You Know When a Bottle Is Running Low?

You do not have to open the machine to find out. The platform shows each fragrance’s level, live.

For each button, you enter how many sprays the bottle holds and a warning level. When stock drops below that level, the platform warns you. Our setup guide suggests starting at 200 sprays. Set the warning high enough that you have time to buy the next bottle and bring it on a visit you were making anyway.

That is the difference between refilling on a schedule and refilling when it is actually needed. A machine with one fragrance far more popular than the rest will run that bottle down long before the others, and the platform shows you which one.

Can You Change What the Screen Shows Remotely?

Yes. When nobody is buying, the touchscreen shows your own images or video. You can promote the venue, its offers, or keep the SpritzUp screen. Remote advertising is included in all three packages.

There are three kinds of content you can upload:

SlotHow manySize
Top carouselUp to 5 images1080 × 450 pixels
Full-screen adUp to 2 portrait images1080 × 1920 pixels
Video adA landscape or portrait videoUnder 40 MB

You choose the venue, upload the files and save. The machine downloads the new content within a few minutes. So if the venue runs a promotion on Friday, the screen can be showing it on Friday, without anyone touching the machine.

The same screen shows your fragrances. You add each one on the platform with its name, its photo and its price, and that is what your customers choose from.

What Else Can You Do Without Visiting the Machine?

A few smaller things that save a trip:

  • Swap a fragrance on a button. From the shelves screen you take a fragrance off a button and put another on it. You still put the new bottle in at the machine, but the button itself is set up on the platform.
  • Switch buttons on and off. Each button on the platform matches a physical button on the machine. Only the ones with a bottle behind them should be on.
  • Restart the machine. If the screen is not showing a change you made, you can restart the machine from the platform.

When something is not working, you message our team. Remote technical support comes with every package, and it is priority support on Professional and Complete.

What Do You Still Do at the Machine?

Remote management covers the day-to-day, but not everything. Being clear about this is more useful than pretending a machine never needs a visit.

  1. The first Wi-Fi connection. The machine’s settings menu is hidden so customers cannot get into it. You open it once at the machine to connect it to the venue’s Wi-Fi. The setup guide shows the exact steps.
  2. Calibrating the coin mechanism. On Essential and Complete, the coin mechanism learns with use. You run a short coin test at the machine, and if it still confuses coins after several rounds, we can calibrate it remotely.
  3. A test spray from every button. Before you open to the public, spray once from each button and make one test sale.
  4. Changing a bottle. When the platform warns you that a fragrance is running low, you bring the next bottle. You buy your own fragrances, and a 100 ml bottle gives up to 900 sprays.

Hanging the machine is also a one-off. It hangs on the wall like a picture, and we guide you through the installation remotely.

The Short Version

A SpritzUp machine is managed from your phone. You see every sale and every fragrance’s level in real time, set your price per spray, get a warning before a bottle runs out, and change what the screen shows, all from the platform. Essential connects by Wi-Fi, and Professional and Complete add a 4G SIM.

What still happens at the machine is short: connecting it to Wi-Fi once, calibrating the coins on Essential and Complete, a test spray before you open, and changing a bottle when the platform tells you to.

Questions people ask

Can you manage a perfume vending machine from your phone?

Yes. A SpritzUp machine is connected to a management platform you open in your browser, on your phone or your laptop. From there you see your sales in real time, set the price per spray, get low-stock warnings and change what the screen shows, without visiting the machine.

How do you change the price on a perfume vending machine?

On a SpritzUp machine you set the price per spray on the platform, for each button. The machine screen has no price settings, so price changes are always made from your phone or computer.

How do you know when a perfume vending machine is running low?

On the platform you see each fragrance's level. For each button you enter how many sprays the bottle holds and a warning level, and the platform warns you when stock drops below it.

Can you see the sales of a perfume vending machine remotely?

Yes. Sales Orders lists every sale one by one with the fragrance, amount, payment method and status, and Operational Statistics gives totals by day or by month. Professional adds monthly reports and Complete adds weekly reports.

Does a perfume vending machine need internet to be managed remotely?

Yes. The connection is what gives you real-time sales and remote configuration. Essential connects by Wi-Fi, and Professional and Complete have a 4G SIM as well as Wi-Fi, so they do not rely on the venue's Wi-Fi alone.

What do you still have to do at the machine?

Connecting it to Wi-Fi the first time, calibrating the coin mechanism on Essential and Complete, a test spray from every button before you open, and changing a bottle when it runs down. Everything else is done on the platform.
