Buying for your own venue vs. buying to place

There is no third model here, and no version where we take a cut. You buy the machine once. Everything it earns afterwards is yours to keep or to share, and who you share it with is your decision, not ours.

• You already have the footfall. If you run a bar, gym, barbershop or club, the machine earns off traffic you are already paying rent for. It needs wall space and a socket, not floor space.
• You are placing it in someone else's venue. You buy the machine, you find the venue, and you agree terms directly with the owner or the GM — flat monthly rent for the wall, a percentage, or nothing at all. Put it in writing. Settle who carries liability and whose policy covers a unit bolted to somebody else's wall, and check the venue is not already tied into a restroom-services contract covering the same wall. SpritzUp is not a party to any of that and takes nothing out of it.

Where these tend to work

We have not placed machines across the US, so treat this as reasoning rather than a survey. The logic is the same every time: dense foot traffic, a moment where somebody is about to be seen, and a card already in their hand.

• Sports bars and nightlife strips — demand concentrates around peak nights rather than spreading across the week.
• Nightclubs — restroom traffic late in the evening, when the reason to buy needs no explaining.
• Barbershops and men's grooming — the customer is already paying to look put together.
• Gyms — the walk from the locker room to the rest of the evening.
• College-town bars — dense, repeat traffic that suits the low end of the price range.
• Hotels, event venues and racquet clubs — lower volume, higher spend per spray.

The math on one machine

These figures are illustrative, not a guarantee of returns. Actual results depend on location, footfall and pricing. SpritzUp sells equipment, not an investment or a guaranteed-income scheme.

A bottle costs €50-70 and yields around 900 sprays. You set the retail price, and operators typically set it somewhere between €1.50 and €3.00. Gross margin runs above 90% per spray before card fees. A typical venue produces €670-2,400 per month, and many operators recover the cost of the machine within one to three months.

What none of that includes, and what a domestic supplier never has to mention: freight from Spain, whatever your broker charges to clear the unit, and the weeks between paying and installing. A payback clock starts when the machine is on a wall and earning, not when the invoice clears. Build that into your own model before you order.

The touchscreen is a second line worth remembering. The screen carries advertising, and in a placement deal a local advertiser slot is something you can sell yourself or trade to the venue as part of the arrangement.

What the skeptics get right

If you have been reading vending threads, you have already seen the objections. Most of them are fair.

• There is real work in it. Somebody has to find the venue, choose the fragrances, refill the bottle and watch the takings, and that somebody is you. A bottle runs around 900 sprays, so refills are not a weekly errand — but they are not zero either.
• Some venues will want a cut, and a few will ask before you have finished the sentence. Because you own the machine outright and we take nothing, whatever you give away is a number you chose rather than a term imposed on you.
• A nightclub restroom at 1am is a hard environment for any piece of hardware. Mounting height, sightlines and whether the venue actually supervises its restrooms matter more here than the spec sheet does.
• People have to actually pay. Placement is the whole game. The same machine on the wrong wall earns a fraction of what it earns on the right one, and no supplier — us included — can promise you a number.
• Venues change hands. It is a wall-mounted unit, not a fit-out, so it can be taken down and remounted elsewhere. Budget for making good the wall you leave behind.

Buying from Spain as a US operator

The machine is built in Spain and ships worldwide. That raises questions a domestic supplier never has to answer, and we would rather answer them here than at the point where you are already committed.

Lead time

Around 25-30 days, tracked. Ask us to confirm in writing the date that applies to your order and your destination before you pay — the estimate in our terms of sale is the one that binds.

Freight, duty and clearance

Ask for a landed quote to your state before you order, and we will set out in writing what the price covers and what it does not. Tariff classification, duty and clearance are for a customs broker to determine. We do not publish a heading or a rate, because neither is ours to promise.

Power

Ask us for the input voltage range and plug type on the exact configuration you are buying and we will confirm it for your unit, rather than making a blanket claim on a web page.

Marks and listings

The Nayax payment terminal is CE marked. CE is the European conformity mark and it is not a US listing — we will not present it as one. If your venue, landlord, insurer or local inspector wants a UL or ETL mark, raise it before you order and we will tell you exactly what marks the unit and its terminal carry.

Taking payment

The fitted terminal is a Nayax unit — contactless, card and NFC. Nayax operates in the US, but whether the terminal shipped with your machine can be onboarded to a US merchant account is a question to settle with us at quote stage, before money moves.

Tax and licensing

Sales and use tax treatment of a vended sale varies by state, and vending and business licensing varies by state and city. Confirm both with your CPA and your state department of revenue. We are not licensed to advise on either and will not guess it for you.

Three configurations, three prices

Fragrance is not included on any tier; you buy your own. Prices are in euros. Before you pay, ask us for a landed quote to your state and we will confirm in writing what that figure includes.

The unit measures 69.3 × 45.0 × 13.8 cm — about 27.3 × 17.7 × 5.4 inches — and mounts on a wall, so what it needs is wall space and a socket.

What the price includes

You will have seen import units advertised for a fraction of this. They are real, and rather than tell you what is wrong with them, here is what is fitted and configured on ours before it leaves the factory:

• A Nayax payment terminal, CE marked, already installed and set up rather than sourced and wired by you.
• 4G SIM plus WiFi on Professional and Complete, so you can read the takings from your phone instead of driving to the venue to count them.
• Remote management configured before the machine ships.
• An onboarding team and a private WhatsApp group from the moment you order, so questions are answered by a person and not a contact form.
